The documentary film-maker Christopher Gill turns his lens on himself and his struggle to stem his burgeoning obesity crisis before he is engulfed by fat - and hopelessness. As he and his fellow camera-jock, and erstwhile friend, Garret Harkawik, set out to motivate the fulfillment of a sensible exercise regimen by documenting his progress on video, optimism fades when Mr. Gill's struggle with hopelessness - viciously thrust upon him by an uncaring society all too concerned with glamorous body imagery and obsessed with the bitter self-laceration of hopelessly longing for unattainable fantasies of sexual perfection instilled by the Hollywood industry and Madison Avenue in their cynical desire to pervert human life and perpetuate misery in a consumer culture that prescribes economic consumption as mankind's sole emotional salve -- subverts his plans for healthy change. Will Mr. Gill be defeated by cruel fate? Or will his perseverance and essential humanity confound the odds and lead to a brighter future -- and an inspirational message that, no matter how high the mountain, all you have to do is keep running uphill?
