Valeria's father is dead. For the first time after many years away Valeria travels back to her home village to attend her father's funeral. Neither in the church nor at the funeral meal does she find comfort. She feels uneasy around the villagers. Her mother wraps herself in silent sorrow and leaves Valeria with doubts about her father having died a natural death. Valeria wants to go back to her studies as soon as possible but unexpected powers prevent her from returning to the city. Valeria has to face her destiny.
