For the first time in Quebec, a home for abused women is documented from the inside. Break Free is a film that demonstrates how essential this type of shelter is. It takes the form of a diary showing the ups and downs, the dramatic and happy moments, and at the centre, the residents and workers of the L'Escale shelter in Sherbrooke, over more than three months and lays witness to the immense wounds of the abused women and the great generosity of those who try to repair them.
