Lucas, a jobless, depressed, 31 year old is looking for something in life that excites him. He ends up in mid-coast Maine where the ocean meets the sea. Sandra, a young, excitable, mysterious girl, pops in and out of Lucas' life hoping to stir his interest. They meet at the harbor in the most unexpected of ways from there their emotional journey takes off. Through meetings on the dock, to breakfast at the local café, to sitting under a tree in a field, Lucas is taken out of his element while Sandra finally feels understood.
