In November 2006, a mexican team of cancer patients lead by Dr. Francisco Olvera de la Rosa performed an unprecedented ascension in the Iztaccihuatl volcano, to an altitude of 5000 meters above sea level. At such a magnificent volcanic environment, the effort of the ascension becomes a metaphor of the struggle to survive and a mere hiking exercise transforms into a beautiful lesson that shall never be forgotten
