A young, sick woman, Rene, tries to forget about her illness by spending time with her husband Leo. When they are awoken by jazz music in the middle of the night, Leo goes upstairs to complain and never returns. Rene follows him only to find a full blown 1940's party, but no Leo. We then realize that she has died and went to heaven, which is represented by the party and its characters.
