Two seriously ill men are lying in a hospital room. Alfons is happy to be on the window side and to look out of the window. Bodo is lying near the door, too far away from the window to see anything. Slowly he begins to drift into Alfons daily description of the outside world. One night Bodo is woken up by a sound.
