Carving the Path

This film is a visual experimentation, which interprets our established ways of looking and the agency inherent in the role of the filmmaker. The piece sets out to investigate and expose the parameters set in our past and present visual culture, which adhere to American tradition and patriarchy. The film seeks to compare the male gaze in Hollywood and in home movies, in order to create a collection of images, which are similar in the roles played by the women and the small frames they are confined to.
