'Static' tells the story of a relationship between a man and a woman divided between two worlds and their only connection is through a television set. 'Static' follows a narrative but experimental structure that starts the film, develops it, and then resolves it. The film attempts to achieve a delicate balance between narrative satisfaction and a refusal to provide conventional gateways of accessibility to a universal meeting, such as dialogue, exposition, and score. This approach changes the filmmaker/audience relationship by demanding an elevated level of participation. 'Static' allows for individual interpretation by dropping the viewer into a dramatic situation without the benefit of the context that is conventionally provided yet still provides an entertaining cinematic experience.
