Joanna Vassa

England, 1821. Joanna Vassa - the daughter of Gustavus Vassa, otherwise known as Olaudah Equiano, a Wesleyan Methodist - marries Rev. Henry Bromley, who becomes the Minister of Clavering Congregational Church between 1826-1845. Their marriage represents the integrated history between the Methodist Church and the Congregational Church now known as the United Reformed Church.
