In Ghost Stories, the filmmaker attempts to reconcile the difference between myth and reality with regards to female archetypes. She weaves the tale of three women--her mother, herself, and the ghost-legend Diana of the Dunes--to come to some understanding of her own role as a mother and motherless daughter.
