Louise, a wealthy young French/Brazilian woman, argues with her maid Marinete who decides to quit her job. Louise regrets the clash and decides to go by herself to Marinete's home to apologize. But Marinete lives in the favelas - the slums on the outskirts of Rio - and Louise enters the favelas for the very first time.
