An elderly farmer struggles with the crippling loneliness of being a recent widower. The land he resides upon feels that much more desolate. That is, until one day he discovers a beaten, unconscious youth stranded on his property. Deciding against calling the police, he instead brings him into the house to care for the boy himself.
