Don, a sarcastic salesman, stands atop a high-rise building with Jerry, his nervous, recently-fired co-worker. The two have been best friends for years, and Don feels he is the only one who can prevent Jerry from taking his own life. They converse and share a cigarette as each internally struggles with what step to take next.
