Started in 2002, the National Gay Flag Football League has grown into an enormously successful organization with 21 member cities across North America. Every fall, the best players from across the country converge for the annual Gay Bowl. This year, 27 teams will descend on Phoenix, AZ for four days of 90-plus degree heat, parties, dozens of games and for one team, a $1,000 replica Lombardi trophy to commemorate the victory. F(l)ag Football is the story of three teams from New York, Los Angeles, and Phoenix as they break stereotypes, challenge norms, and redefine masculinity in their bids to become the next Gay Bowl Champions. They train hard, play harder, and each team has its own flavor and attitude about what it means to be a gay athlete. With everything on the line, some teams will come together and others will show their cracks. In F(l)ag Football, only one team can win, but everyone can be fabulous.
