Awareness.Progress lies in the aorta that is awareness. Upon learning about local homeless teenagers through a backpacking expedition, student Jordan Raoufpur, teamed up with filmmaker Kia Zomorrodi in order to raise this very thing. Awareness.For 5 months these two artists embarked on a journey documenting the Toussaint Academy homeless Shelter in San Diego. Through their extended time there, they found two individuals that had absolutely captivating stories. Carlos Estrada and Julian Alcala. Stories that retold the trials and tribulations of the massive struggle of homelessness.This film is their story, our story, and unfortunately society's as well. From heartwarming to unsettling, this is an unequivocal portrait of truth. The truth of the lifestyles of thousands of teenagers across our nation, and just outside your door.
