A Different Face explores the life of Shaharzad Akbar, the first Afghan female to study at Oxford University. With the fall out of the Taliban's rule leaving 85% of women uneducated in Afghanistan, Shaharzad has defied both the jaws of oppression and threat of assassination in her simple quest to learn. Expressed through intimate home videos with her family in war-torn Afghanistan and on campus at one of the world's leading universities - war, suicide attacks and the future for her fallen nation are all discussed by 22-year-old Shaharzad to first time director Victoria Musguin.
