Revision: Decay

A collection of 7 one minute post-consumer films. Re-purposing found film, these short films explore ideas of discarded waste and art, the role of the artist in creating new from the old with the recorded memories of others, and the role of the consumer in the arts. Motion images are reinterpreted and revised, updated and altered to create a new vision from what was once old and considered waste. Super8 and 16mm films in various stages of decay have been further altered with bleach, dyes, paints, scratches and dirt, optically printed frame by frame to digital media, edited and scored by the filmmaker. The term post-consumer is also a smirk to reference the idea that the films as presented are no longer commercially viable projects.
