Living in a house of family tension and unease, nine year old Jerry is left to his own devices. It is in this time that he discovers Clive, an old toy, long forgotten. One night as Jerry sleeps, he is awoken by a strange noise. He awakes to find Clive, no longer a small toy, but a life-size creature, wanting to play. It is into his imagination they go, enjoying the innocence and fun of playing for as long as it can last, until Jerry is forced to remember everything he has left behind.
