Free-will, determinism. A man wakes up on an island, a photo of a child in his hand. This is the only trace of a past he has forgotten. He rediscovers the steps of life, the effects of time, boredom and angst. Slowly he learns his history as well as History. An encounter with the Gods of a long-vanished civilization will lead him to a radical choice in order to keep the promises he made to himself as a child.
