Yearning

Often we are reminded of home through smells, colors, scenes or even sounds. Yearning is a journey through my country, Iraq, with the subtext that sometimes we even miss the horrors of War because it reminds us of home. generally the film is to do with the resignation and the relief we're made to feel by those places familiar to us. Yearning exhibits few unconnected stories in a film essay fashion, creating a surreal atmosphere through which the viewer is meant to experience war in an atypical fashion. How childhood is transformed to adulthood while still trapped in the body of a child.
