BEAUTIFUL GARBAGE (a novel and mini-movie) is set in the still dangerous lower east side of NYC in the 1980s and tells the story of Jodi Plum, a figurative artist who falls into a circle of high class prostitutes. The novel questions the notion of being an artist -- its devastations, myths, cliches, as well as the commercialization of art in a world where everything is for sale.
