Emmanuel, a Mexican immigrant, is being pursued across rugged desert terrain by his smuggler, 'The Coyote'. The Coyote was leading Emmanuel across the US/Mexican border, until a confrontation over Emmanuel's prized necklace caused him to flee into the desert, with the Coyote in hot pursuit. 'The Crossing' is a story of perseverance in the face of imminent death over an item of subjective value.
