Lorna Cotard attempts to commit suicide but it disappointed to find that the course of pills she has purchased does not do the job. Waiting for the pill supplier to deliver another batch, she becomes terrified that she might actually have died after all, only to have found that there is an afterlife but it is exactly the same as the one she was trying to escape. As her mind unravels, seemingly stuck in a repetitive loop, Lorna starts to realise how little she can ever really know.
