A 10-year-old girl, Betsy, is told that a monster, which likes to eat little blonde girls like her, lives in her woods. She decides instead of being afraid of the monster, or the Sucker as she calls it, she will capture it before it can get her. The film chronicles her attempts at trying to capture this fictitious monster and is wrapped in underlying themes of facing her fears and growing up.
