Hidden America focuses on homeless individuals who camp on the banks of the American River just outside Sacramento, California. A fear of being arrested because of the enforcement of a 'no camping' city ordinance, coupled with the unpredictability of mother nature are the sources of constant stress in their lives. Ultimately, it is their compassion and kindness to one another that enables them to survive.
