When Joel arrives in his hometown after an adventurous journey around America, he pays a visit to his old friend Tom. The two throw back a couple beers as they find amusement out of how much they both have changed. They dive into their new life experiences, and get an in depth perspective on the men they have become, after a long farewell. Joel is a free spirit, he loves the open road and an unfamiliar face to learn something new from. Tom has become an uptight, know it all. He works hard, and is well on his way to becoming very successful. Yet there is something missing in his life. Their very different outlooks on life, clash into the conversation of a lifetime.
