Toto, a little boy living with his mother and Grandfather, has a fort made of pillows and bedsheets, where he and his Grandpa go on magical adventures. One day they are cowboys, another they are WWI fighter pilots in a dogfight. But when Toto's Grandpa falls ill, Toto must learn to cope through these fantasies.
