The ancient Greeks believed the newly dead must drink from one of two rivers: Mnemosyne, the Muse of Memory, or Lethe, the power of Oblivion. If you drank memory you would have lived and learned. If you drank oblivion you would die and forget it all. In the afterworld between lives a young performer yearning for stardom and struggling to understand himself drinks from the river Mnemosyne. In the sunlit aether he dreams the Muse is filming him.
