In 2003, 5 % of the Peruvian rain forest was concession-ed to foreign oil companies in preparation to search for oil and gas. In 2007 the number had reached 67 %. This development forces the Amazon natives into an incomprehensible dilemma. The drain for natural resources brings the modern world into their backyard, and they will no longer be able to live from the nature that surrounds them.
