A family of watermen struggle to preserve their way of life working the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. This documentary film by Laura Seltzer, also examines the health of a Bay that is battered by development and pollution yet struggling to stay alive. The first sign of an ailing bay is an ailing fishery. The watermen profiled in 'The Last Boat Out' know this fact all too well.
