The film is about an old man, Murray, who works as a volunteer in a beautiful public rose garden. The garden is his last passion and he is devoted to its protection and well being. Standing in his way of that is the numerous other volunteers who are there, who are much younger, and have their own reasons for being there, none of which are for the benefit of the garden.
