After totaling his car on the way to work, New Mexico native Martin Reed is left with puzzling questions about the cause of the crash and his surprising lack of injuries. Plagued by recurring nightmares, he decides to box up his belongings and make a fresh start in the Midwest. However, Martin's plans go awry when he gets a visit from a young woman who claims she witnessed the accident and that forces beyond their understanding were at work.
