The aim of From I to I is to communicate and convey impressions and concepts without the use of the spoken word or written language. Instead, it uses a melange of visual stimulation in the form of real film mixed with animation alongside progressive soundscapes. Set in China, the protagonist serves as a grip on structure and the 'real' until receding from view to let a new paradigm take hold. From I to I finds new methods and means of communicating by stretching and warping the cinematic structures we already know so well and leaving behind the didacticism of the spoken word.
