A Closer Walk With...

Situated in the once spectacular, now long-abandoned Michigan Central Station, this short film wanders between the memory of individuals and the memory of a space. Ambiguity plays between a real encounter and an imaginative one. Music plays a central role in the film, bridging the gap between different age, languages and time. Jazz funeral melodies meander through the melancholic architecture into the realm between life and death, a metaphor of a cultural past and its future. The title is adapted from the New Orleans funeral song 'Just a Closer Walk With Thee'.
