A TV crew arrives at the rehearsal of an enthusiastic little New York theater company to document the creative process. They find out how dreadfully bad the featured play is. The entire company is a bunch of amateurs and demented eccentrics. Troubles mount: the producer is sued, the Diva carries on a tawdry affair with the ego maniacal, cruel director, the leading lady collapses in hysterics, and the opening is in one week.
