UTC is a a meditation on the temporality of our digital landscape. A found-footage film composed from web cameras in Japan, it offers a deep-time experience of a digital medium whose relentless stream of images often goes unseen, and is rarely recorded. The tender, lo-fi images are a reminder of the hubris of an artificial vision that yearns to see beyond its physical constraints: stilted, strobing, telepresent. UTC takes as its subject being and time in digitalia.
