Kayemba touches on the themes of living in a foreign country and battling with the traditional values of parenting. It's a story of an 18 year old Kayemba or Kay, who is Finnish and African living with a strict African father, in a Finnish society. There are many odds that come against Kay that bring her to a crossroads of whether to take control of her own life or abide by her controlling father's rules.
