In a small village in the middle of nowhere the young schoolmaster causes an accident in which two women are killed. Riddled with guilt, he confesses his fault only to the priest. To make matters worse, the presence of a fabric clown toy that was in the car at the time of the accident, serves as a constant reminder of the tragic facts to him. During a walk with his pupils, one of the little girls walks away with the little clown in her hands. Some time later, she is found dead. Has she been murdered by the schoolmaster?
