A shadow, fed up with the behaviour of his owner, decides to punish him by stealing a day from his life. The main character, John, is turned into his 'shadow's shadow' and watches his dark alter-ego frolic around and enjoy what he undervalued for so long - be it simple pleasures like feeding sparrows in the park or the love of a certain woman.
