Spain, 1977. Colonel Asensio has gathered his family and friends at his beautiful country house for a sumptuous evening to celebrate his birthday. Franco has just died but although Spain now claims to be a democracy, the ghosts of an authoritarian regime still linger. The Asensio's are the perfect hosts for the perfect party. But under the veneer lies a deception that could threaten the very fabric of the family. One of the guests holds a secret that has been buried for many years, a secret that refuses to stay hidden. And just as Spain must acknowledge its past, the Asensio family has to acknowledge its own.
