'My Walkabout with You' is a short film written and directed by Anastasia Kolas, featuring playwright and a performance artist, Deborah Pearson. It has been conceived as a 2012 response to now classic 1981 film My Dinner with Andre, directed by Louis Malle. 'My Walkabout with You' is set in New York City as was the original 1981 version; the containing conversation reflects on the contemporary sense of well-being, observing the often resulting estrangement from ourselves that we experience in hyper-connected world of instant communication today. In contrast with thoroughness of the nearly two hour long Louis Malle feature, the short length of the 'Walkabout' is reflective of the abbreviated fast-paced lifestyle aided by the new technology and the Internet.
