Film shot in the 1940's in Povoa do Varzim that shows the arduous life of the fishermen of the town. Ala-Arriba is a term used by the fishing community of Povoa de Varzim and means 'strength (up).' The concept refers to a traditional mutual aid community and has served as a motto. Humberto Marques Fernandes (son of one of the actors that participated in the film) shares his memories and recounts episodes on the days of shooting.
