Jameson is an insecure individual who suffers from severe social anxiety disorder. Desperate for companionship, his phobia prevents him from fostering any significant interpersonal relationships. His only human contact comes from his partner, Henrietta: a domineering and brutish woman who abuses him as a means of dealing with her own deep-seated insecurities concerning her weight. The film examines the complex relationship between these two individuals who hate each other but need each other to assuage their feelings of intense loneliness and isolation.
