Suzi's Theme (2012) is a 16mm live-action, stop motion animation of an amateur mini accordion composition. The film inverts the traditional order of priorities between audio and image in animation: by creating the sound first, the visual production is posed as a puzzling challenge that enables play and creativity, but that also requires rigorous precision in order to sync up. Shot frame by frame and in sequential order, Suzi's Theme has no image post-production, it is the result of careful planning and in-camera editing.
