GUSTAV is short film about the war pigeon that delivered the first message of the D Day Landings at Normandy on 6th June 1944 for which he was awarded the PDSA Dickin Medal - the animal's equivalent of the Victoria Cross. The piece is a stylised account of events at that time around the pigeon's journey back home, set to music and poetry and filmed at locations including Bletchley Park and HMS Belfast.
