Although everything is in order in sixteen-year-old Charlotte's life, she invents dramatic stories to show her innermost feelings. Lola on the contrary is more withdrawn. She does not tell her best friend about the depressive periods of her mum who drinks and has long ago been to work. Lola carries hard on her secret burden, whilst Charlotte brings herself into more and more trouble with her invented stories.
