With a devastating tornado flattening one third of the city in May 2011, the town of Joplin Missouri is simultaneously struck by globalism and global warming. With its core industries in mid-wage manufacturing, their struggles reflect those of America's middle-class. The tornado serves as dual metaphor for climate and economic globalism. How will these patriotic citizens change when they go to rebuild their dream of America and find that it is gone?
