Harry and Darran acted in Lee's first short film, No Smoking Please, in 2008. As Lee filmed the entire rehearsal process in order to familiarize the boys with having the cameras around, he realized that they were funnier and more interesting as themselves than the characters written for them. Lee cut the resulting footage into a documentary that treads a fine line between a ludicrous 'serious' documentary and a highly self-aware parody, or mockumentary.
