The first day at a new job, however welcome that job may be, can be daunting. It can only be made worse if you are unhappy with what to wear and how you will present yourself to your own brave new world, on top of everything else. Well meaning but contradictory opinions from friends and family, and the pressure of time, don't help. Victor Streatfeild uses this scenario as an opportunity to examine the dilemmas of self perception and public identity, and the part that family and friends play in resolving, or worsening these situations. The film concludes by laying bare the apparent futility of it all in a way that will bring a smile to the face of then viewer.
